VIDEO: Here’s what we gave up for energy efficiency
Compare the incandescent bulb to the light emitting diode on the efficiency scale:
Halogen light bulbs, the compact fluorescent lamp, and light emitting diode technology may have reduced energy consumption, but they have not delivered the warmth and radiance of the incandescent light bulb. Those of us who miss that warmth and radiance will appreciate the efforts of scientists developing an updated version of the incandescent light.
See what Bill Hammock, “engineerguy,” has to say about our old friend, the incandescent light, and read on to see what may bring it back in a less energy consuming form.
